Copyright Acknowledgements

This site contains and makes significant use of public sector information licensed under the UK Open Government Licence v2.0 and similar licences in other countries/territories. The following sources are acknowledged. It would be unrealistic to acknowledge each individual source on each page of the Datalog website so the following is a blanket acknowledgement of the sources and their copyright. Each company listing on Datalog acknowledges the primary source for the company registrar data however in mosts cases the copyright acknowledgement of enrichment data is not acknowledged on each individual page since it would be impractical to acknowledge typically 20-30 difference sources of information on each page so therefore the supplemental sources are acknowledged collectively here. Each individual page links to this page.

FAQ

How do I remove my company from Datalog?

Datalog lists limited companies which are automatically included on the public register. When you form a limited company it is automatically added to the public register so anybody can inspect it. We are not a government organisation so We cannot remove companies from the public register. If you don't want to be on the public register then don't form a limited company! If you really want to be removed, you will need to dissolve your company and it will then be removed from the register after a period of time.

In exceptional circumstances Companies House may permit the use of PO Boxes for registered offices. They may also withold registered office information. This is not something we can help you with - you will need to discuss it with them.

If you happen to be a sole trade and your company is included on Datalog, please let us know. We will investigate and if we confirm you are a sole trader we will comply with the removal request. We will also notify the primary source that they are listing a sole trader as a limited company.

How do I add my company to Datalog?

If you are a recently formed limited company, you will automatically be added to Datalog when we obtain the updated feed from the public register. You don't need to do anything to be added. We currently support UK companies,Irish companies, Jersey companies, Canadian federal companies and some provincipal Canadian registrations and overseas companies with a UK registration. We are exploring adding other countries - the next likely countries are USA. If you are a sole trader, we currently don't support the addition of your company. We are considering implenting this at a future date.

How can I remove some data you have about my company?

All data on datalog is obtained from public domain sources. We use over 400 sources where information is release under crown copyright or open data licences which is free to re-use. We have over hundreds of millions data points obtained from public sources and mistakes do happen. If you find a mistake, we will investiagte to see if the mistake is ours and correct or if the mistake is provided by a primary source, we will provide you with the relevant information to contact the primary source for the information enabling you to correct the mistake if the information is inaccurate. If you are simply objecting to the presence of information then we are unable help unless it meets one of the Crown Copyright redacting categories such as:

In certain circumstances the company registrar may suppress information for example where a home address has been used as a registered office and threats or violance or actual violance have occurred. In these circumstances a police or crime incident number will be needed. If the primary source has suppressed the information, we will expediate any request to suppress the same suppressed information.

If you are objecting to the information because you consider it to be commercially secret, then sorry we can't help. We would have obtained the information from a primary source who has a legal right to the information and has granted us the right to reproduce, publish and enhance the information. If you have not informed the primary source that the information is commercially secret it's your problem not ours. You will need to contact the primary source about the disclosure. If the primary source agrees to suppress your data will be comply with any subsequent suppression request.
